Going back through old folders of pictures is fun – or albums if you have them – and I encourage everyone to go look through their children’s early years. It’s amazing, even after only three (and two) years how much mine have changed. They’ve changed from babies into little people – each with their own personality and specialness. Each wonderful, beautiful, and exciting.
I’m almost envying the people that have the patience and creativity to create albums - especially the modern scrapbook kind - but I also know that I don’t have either. One of my buddies at ecom enterprises just created a product called “How Fast They Grow” which is a Flex application that allows the digerati like myself to create an online scrapbook that can be printed. Much like what Kodak started a while back but this is on steroids (in the nicest of ways) and might even be fun enough to keep my attention…. well, maybe not so much, but I love the idea.
Since I’m assuming that this will soon make the mother rounds, I would love to get comments on photographers that you’ve used and had success with. I know that we’ve tried a few and the results have been mixed - some have been great, some have been not so great. Sure, all are our children and that makes the subject beautiful, but, for example, the photos that we got from Sears weren’t any better than what we might have created at home, which I found a bit disappointing. Anyway, if you all share your links here in the comments I will post the referrals to a page so that everyone can have a list of photographers, their contact information, and anything else that seems relevant. Of course, I’d also like to hear abotu the not so wonderful experiences, too, so that people might know who to avoid.
