When we first found out that we were pregnant, we started looking for a new house. Our starter home, at a little over 1000 square feet just wouldn’t be big enough for the three of us – let alone whatever was to come. It was a tedious process, but thankfully we found something new. Once that had been done the next task was putting our own personal touch on the place and in our excitement we started with the new baby’s room.
We had a ton of ideas, from our first effort at painting wainscot in alternating flat and gloss paints to a bright green that was so bright when you looked out the bedroom window the neighbors house actually looked green. We would have to change something.
With some ideas of what we might want me trolled Craigslist and finally found someone that might be willing to do a mural for us. We agreed to meet and he came over to show us his portfolio. It was a little weird at first – he was a young kid, probably around 20 – and most of the drawings were of nude people. Just the same, the murals that he did show off were great and we decided to step out on a limb and hire him. The pictures that you see here are the result and needless to say we’re very happy about it. I don’t think that the girls appreciate it – even now – but I think that we’ve gotten value out of it for ourselves which more than pays for it. In addition to what you see in these photos, we found lighting at Ikea that looks like clouds. They hang from the ceiling and fit in perfectly with the design.
Anyway… just wanted to share the room so that you can see some of the home our daughters came home to.
