We just got back from a great weekend with our friend’s Jean, Victor, Cassandra and Reina. We visited Preston Ranch in Paso Robles, which is their family vineyard, and it was a great experience. Unlike last year we didn’t get to swim in the pool (too cold), but we did get to play with them, their dogs, and see how grapes grow and are picked for wine.
The weather was spectacular, the company amazing, and I believe that everyone truly had a great time. As you can see from the pictures, the ranch is a fantastic place and the pictures really don’t do it any justice. It’s a little over 130 acres of rolling hills and at the top is a log cabin to dream about. Everything you could ask for and more. It’s just difficult to thank Jean and Victor enough for their hospitality and company.
Out in the back yard is a wonderful view of the valleys below and a tree-house that got it’s fair share of play time this weekend. I know that my girls really appreciated having the Reina and Cassandra helping them up and down the stairs, sharing their toys, and just playing around.
Of course, no trip to a vineyard would be complete without visiting the grapes. The tour was marvelous and the sweetness of the grapes was intoxicating. It is easy to see why these grapes would make good wine.
On the way back we enjoyed some bread and some television in the car, which made for a great ending to a wonderful weekend. Thanks again Jean, Victor, Cassandra and Reina. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
