Trick or Treat! The doorbell just rang for the 100th time tonight and the costumes keep getting better and better. Of course, I think that my puppy and kitty were the two best costumes out there, and the sheer excitement that Sofi and Natalie showed tonight is nearly unrivaled. Even now at a little after 8:00 they’re still hyped up and raring to go - running to the door every time someone comes up, eager to hand out the treats that we’re giving out. Very fun.
We went with some friends tonight - Elaine, Clairabelle, and Spencer - and it really seemed like everyone had a great time. The neighborhood wasn’t too crowded, but it does seem that there are more people out than last year. Oddly - about the same amount seem to be coming to our door, so maybe it’s about the same and the timing is just swayed a bit from last year. Either way, it’s been a fun evening.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that we only visited about 10 houses - which took about an hour - and the girls almost always said thank you (so I guess we can go back next year, too!) When we got home, as you can see above, they wanted to immediately tear into their loot to see what they’d scored. We let them have a little, but they have a lot more to go. Special thanks to everyone we visited - it’s nice to be in a neighborhood like this, knowing that the people care about the people around them. Hope each of you had a wonderful night, too!
