The guys who fear becoming fathers don’t understand that fathering is not something perfect men do, but something that perfects the man. The end product of child raising is not the child but the parent. ~Frank Pittman, Man Enough
We didn’t get as many photos at thanksgiving dinner as I would have liked, but we had a wonderful time all the same. Dinner was great, the company was wonderful and the children had a wonderful time. Mama did an absolutely wonderful time of entertaining the children and there were even games like pin the hat on the turkey and potato races. And, while I know the children enjoyed the games, they really enjoyed the prizes, which made everything a wonderful success.
On Friday we spent some day around the house putting up lights on the house and spending some time raking leaves. Mama did most of the raking and papa did most of the relaxing and Sofi and Natalie definitely did most of the playing. For the first time, they had a wonderful time in the leaves. They played, rolled, laughed, screamed and generally made a mess of themselves. It was wonderful for everyone! Well, maybe less wonderful for mama who was doing all the work, but I had a great time! (From time to time I get questions on the status of the “tree house,” so I thought I’d include a photo of how far we’ve gotten. Anyone (Troy) want to come help finish??)
Finally, after playing in the yard, we did some in-house decorating and put up our new friend Frosty. The first photo that you see I’m titling “Don’t Touch,” which is exactly what they’ve just been told. Unfortunately, those two words apparently mean different things to different people. They’re just too darn cute, though.
In the next photo we’re opening the new snowman, and then finally you see Sofi hugging the snowman. We did that again, tonight, too, so I think it’s fair to say that they’re liking our new yard decoration. Hope you enjoy and I really hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend.
