Mama and I have been talking for some time about getting Sofi and Natalie’s ears pierced, but to be honest we were afraid of the crying. I think that their tears of pain are more difficult for us than them, although when it came to their second ear, I’m not so sure.
Anyway, While working at the new Rockcliff office in Livermore, we ran into All About Me Kids Salon. Unlike so many of the other ear piercing places we had seen, All About Me specializes in harcuts and piercing for children. They have all the cool stuff, including a television, special chairs (a car and airplane) for getting your haircut, and an owner (Jennifer Miller) that is charismatic and very kid friendly. After talking it over, and talking it over with the girls, we made an appointment.
Because Sofi had been begging the longest we decided that she should go first, and although it started out all smiles, there were a few tears in there, too. It’s a pretty painless process, though, so if you’re at all considering it, I would recommend that you consider this salon or someone that’s used to dealing with children, because Jennifer really did make a difference. Natalie, of course, waited through his sister’s discomfort like a champ.
After listening to her sister screaming, I was really proud that Natalie chose to go through with it, and of the two she definitely recovered more quickly. Man, though, those tears sure are a killer. Big ol’ giant crocodile tears.
All in all, though, it was a wonderful experience, and the little tiny ears with their pretty little earrings really are adorable. For the record, Natalie picked picked green and Sofi picked (what else) pink. So, if you need your child’s haircut or your daughter’s ears pierced, check out the All About Me Salon in Livermore.
