Most parents will tell you to enjoy your children as they grow up - and they’ll tell you that it all goes too quickly. Unless you’re living it, though, you really can’t understand how true those words are. This past weekend we celebrated Sofi’s fourth birthday (June 30) and Natalie’s third birthday (July 10), and looking back all I can think about is how quickly it’s passed and how my little girls are growing up. They’re people on their own now, and it tears at my heart just having them as a part of my life.
The good part of the party was obviously all the friends that joined us and we are thankful to every one of them. Because of the weather (it started at about 100 by 11:00 in the morning), we pulled a last minute call to have another pool party at the house - and with the weird summer lightening storm, it’s a good thing we did, and everyone seemed to have a marvelous time.
The theme this year was “princess” (what else) and the girls really seemed to enjoy themselves. Everything that they received - thanks everyone for your generosity - was princess themed and we’re still breaking in some of the gifts. Wow, I don’t know that I remember having a party with that many friends, that much fun, and that many gifts, but times are changing.
I would like to think that everyone that came had a great time - I know that we did. There are more photos in the gallery, and I will be adding even more as soon as I have some time to catch up from all the other posting that I need to do, so check back from time to time.
