Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, we all sometimes forget how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy the weather and all that the area has to offer. Four seasons are for other states, and we basically just get to enjoy two different types of summer – one with rain and one without. This year was made special with a few trips to Truckee, California (up near Lake Tahoe) where we got to see it snowing and see snow on the ground. Saturday morning is Soccer Saturday morning and this week was no exception. The girls got out and spent some time on the field – including as you can see with Sofi’s picture, making “ice-cream cones” and running them across the field. (More about Saturday in the next post.)

I think I mentioned this the other day, but the girls have been taking soccer on Saturday mornings. The class is only 30 minutes, and like a sit-com there are a lot of breaks to get through that half hour. Personally, I think they like the idea of soccer more than the playing of soccer, but it’s fun to watch and it gets them out and about pretty early. The other nice thing is that it’s only about five minutes from the house, so we can leave at pretty much any time and not have a problem getting there.
If you have young children and you haven’t thought about bowling – at least once – you’re really missing out on a great opportunity for a fun family activity, a hooting good time, and quite a few laughs. Unlike normal bowling, no alcohol is required to make this a fun afternoon for all. My strongest recommendation is to bring your camera, because as you can see there are a multitude of opportunities for some great photos.
